Cradle to Cradle Certified - Each SunPower Equinox panel is made of Maxeon solar cells. They’re the only solar cells in the industry that are Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze. The global certification assesses 5 categories to ensure products are safe and responsibly made - material health, product circularity, clean air & climate protection, water & soil stewardship, and social fairness.
SunPower was also named a leader in sustainable solar companies by the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition’s 2019 scorecard. The coalition holds solar companies accountable by rating manufacturers’ on their efficient use of resources, reporting of emissions, avoidance of conflict materials, the health and safety of their employees, and more. SunPower earned 94/100 points and 10/10 on using recycled content. SunPower has also worked with the Solar Energies Industry Association (SEIA) to create the first industry wide PV-recycling program, keeping PV waste out of landfills.
